Just not in Formula 1.

The 24-ear-old Albon, who was replaced at Red Bull Racing's F1 team by Sergio Perez for 2021, is getting a chance in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters sports car series. The DTM ride comes with Red Bull backing and will allow Albon to race when there are no conflicts with is schedule as an F1 reserve driver.

Albon, who was replaced at Red Bull by Racing Point's Sergio Perez, has started 38 races in Formula 1 for Red Bull and the former Toro Rosso team. Albon finished on the podium twice in 2020 and was seventh in the final F1 Drivers' Standings.

Perez, 30, finished fourth in the 2020 F1 standings while driving for Racing Point. Perez was replaced at Racing Point by four-time F1 champion Sebastian Vettel in a move that kicked off silly season a bit early this past season.

Despite losing his ride at Red Bull, team principal Christian Horner kept the young Albon in the Red Bull family.

“Alex is a valued member of the Team and we thought long and hard about this decision,' Horner said when announcing the Perez signing in December. 'Having taken our time to evaluate all the relevant data and performances, we have decided that Sergio is the right driver to partner Max for 2021 and look forward to welcoming him to Red Bull Racing.
